About SES

John started Sharples Environmental Services in 1998 and has overseen the company’s growth. He has a MSc degree in Environmental Management and more than 20 years’ consulting experience.

Betsy is co-owner of SES. She has been working in environmental consulting since 2008 and has contributed to numerous environmental projects. She is based in Cape Town.

Michael has been working in environmental consulting since 2012 and has been involved in more than 60 projects since starting work at SES in 2014. He is based in the George office.

Madeleine holds a BSc in Environmental Sciences from Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University. She has been working in environmental consulting since 2015 and has experience in Geographic Information System applications and environmental monitoring. She is based in Cape Town.  

Jessica holds a Bachelors in Environmental Management and a BSc Honours in Geography from The University of South Africa. She has been working in environmental consulting since 2023. She is based in Cape Town.

Lu-anne holds a BSc in Zoology & Botany from the North-West University and an Honours Degree in Environmental Management from The University of South Africa. She’s been working in environmental consulting since 2023. She is based in Cape Town.

Christiaan holds a Masters Degree in Environmental Management, a BSc in Biodiversity and Ecology and a PGD in Environmental Management from Stellenbosch University. He has experience in environmental monitoring and has contributed to numerous projects. He is based in the George office.

Onela holds a BSc in Environmental Sciences from Nelson Mandela Universtity and an Honours Degree in Environmental Management from the University of South Africa. She has been working in the environmental field since 2023. She is based in George.

Mazithi holds a Diploma in Environmental Management from Cape Peninsula University of Technology (CPUT). She has strong experience in environmental monitoring and compliance. She has been in environmental consulting since 2023. She is based in George office.

Joelene holds a BSc and BSc Hons in Biodiversity and Ecology from Stellenbosch University. She has been in the environmental field since 2022. She is based in Cape Town.

Cean holds a BA in Geography and an Honours degree in Geography and Environmental Science from the University of the Western Cape. He has professional experience within a municipal environment. He is based at the George office.
