Renewable Energy Application Assistance

Renewable energy comes from sources that are continually replenished, such as sunlight, wind, waves and geothermal heat. The Department of Energy gazetted its White Paper on Renewable Energy in 2003, and introduced it as a “policy that envisages a range of measures to bring about integration of renewable energies into the mainstream energy economy.” Government has since been actively encouraging the role of Independent Power Producers to feed into the national grid in order to promote South Africa’s Renewable Energy development.
