SES participates in International Coastal Clean-up Day

Sharples Environmental Services celebrates International Coastal Clean-up Day by participating in a local beach clean-up.

International Coastal Clean-up Day is one of the largest clean-up drives for beaches and coastlines. The day was started to bring awareness to the growing pollution on various beaches around the world.

South Africa has over 3000 km of coastline and some of the most diverse marine environments of the world. The benefits derived from our oceans include climate regulation, waste absorption, sustenance, economic development, transportation, medicine and recreation. In order to continue receiving such benefits, we can reduce threats to our beaches and marine life by ensuring that we keep our coast lines clean.

The National Environmental Management: Integrated Coastal Management Act 24 of 2008 (NEM:ICMA) ensures our actions and use of natural resources in coastal zones are socially, environmentally, and economically sustainable.

How can SES help?
